Pre-game

Guest post written by Ivy Dougers

Taking kids to a college football game would be a nightmare for a lot of people, but me and my husband manage somehow. We have twin 5 year olds and they love going to football games with us because they're so energetic. Sometimes I get weary chasing after them because we waited a while to have kids but I still love doing it.

They have a little festival the few hours before each home game where they set up a bunch of kids-geared stuff on the campusÕs quad. There are things like inflatable slides and . Before the season opener we took the twins there to blow off some steam before we would have to go and sit in the stand for a few hours and they got in line for the slide. I thought I'd be able to go and get a drink while they were doing that but I ended up having to stand near because I couldn't hear well enough to feel OK about them sliding on the slide.

When we got home from the ball game i decided that maybe I need hearing aides to keep up so I bought them.
Now I feel better about going out in public with them and being aware of what's going on around us.

  1. You know, being anywhere with kids is stressful...I hear you. Try to take a long a disable mom too, but yes, sometimes that is what it takes to find out. Good luck.

  2. The challenge we feel with our children when they are small, may be the challenge they will feel with us afar off...
