Where to see Santa...

This guest post from Lewis Beck

Every year in December Santa comes into town. I hae found that the best place to go and visit him is at my city Christmas Parade. I take my whole faimly to go and see him, and everyone really anjoys it.

The night of the parade we eat dinner, get everyone ready to go, set our home security alarm (MORE INFO) and then head out to the parade. My son and daughter get the most enjoyment out of this because they get to tell Santa exactly what they want for Christmas. My husband and I enjoy it to, because there is a light show, a parade, wonderful music, and of course Santa Clause.

It is a woderful family event, and really brings the Christmas spirit out in everybody who attends the parade. It is a wonderful place for the community to gather and really come together and enjoy. There are pony rides, Christmas carols to sing along with, good food, and a general happy spirit.
If your local community has a Christmas gathering with Santa, I would recommend you going, it is really a wonderful time!

T'is It!

T'is the season!

T'is the season to be... stressed out - because shopping malls are crowded and traffic is congested.

T'is the season to be... exhausted - because shopping list is getting longer and queues at the cashiers are not getting any shorter.

T'is the season to be... wasted - because you get hammered not only for getting drunk but for wrapping tons of presents for our loved ones.
But t'is the season to be... happy and merry - because after all the whining and the ranting and the raving over petty stuff... there is always a good side to holidays - the good side!
And t'is the season to celebrate - because there is always a reason for the season.

Have a happy and safe holiday!

Authored by Leandro Delgado

The holidays are filled with the hustle and bustle of shopping and preparing for family gatherings. In all of the merriment, safety is the last thing on some people's minds. However, the holidays can be a time of personal loss and even tragedy when safety precautions are not taken.

Before you leave your house to go shopping, make sure you set your home Security to prevent thieves from breaking into your home and stealing gifts and other valuables. Shop with a friend if possible. Parking lot robberies seem to increase during the holiday shopping season. When shopping for holiday gifts keep yourself and your belongings safe from thieves. At night, park in areas with adequate lighting so that you can see if someone is lurking about the parking lot. Have your keys in you hands so that you will be ready to open your door as you approach your vehicle. If your key's have a feature that will sound an alarm, don't be afraid to use it if you feel that someone is about to rob you or hurt you in any way.

Place valuables in a locked trunk or out of view of prying eyes. When gifts and other items are left in plain view, thieves won't think twice about stealing them, so it is best keep them out of sight.

Oh Winter

It's officially winter now. There is not much I can do to stop it, much less to postpone it. LOL.
The signs are here.
The chills are felt.
The sceneries are changing.
And in few more days... Christmas will be white.
And for my unsolicited advise about winter - just try enjoy it. Keep warm... keep safe... and keep an eye on that "big belly cute guy in a RED SUIT!" wink***

Shopping Rush or Rash?

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Pier 1 Imports. All opinions are 100% mine.

The holiday season is stressing me out. I don’t know about other people but shopping during the holiday season really takes a lot of my energy. Good thing that I have someone who is in the same boat as I am because it makes me feel not alone.

So today, I went shopping with my BFF.  We went to Pier 1 at the Mall and we spent the whole day in that place alone. Why not? They got all my “must haves” in my list so it saved me the trouble of going from one store to another. They got lots of gift ideas for friends and family at great bargain price too. I got some awesome fancy jewelry for my BFFs and nieces and threw in some unique scented candles and candle holders for my in-laws and sweet fragrances for Hubby’s aunts and cousins. And since I will be hosting this year's Holiday Dinner, I got myself a new set of Spice Route Dinnerware in Paprika to match my Peony Table Runner which I bought online from Pier 1 last year.

And yes, I told my BFF that I want the Bennu Ottoman for my new craft room which I think represents my down-to-earth lifestyle. And I also gave her special instruction to give my Hubby a hint about it. Wink***

It was really a busy day at the store but at least we were almost through with shopping for holiday gifts. And I am so proud of myself because I don’t need to go through the hassle of the Holiday rush or rash [whichever is applicable, LOL]

Oh by the way, I also realized that during the months of November and December, I can support Toys for Tots by dropping off an unwrapped toy and/or making a cash donation at the register. That is why I also bought some unique toys there for the little ones. So for those of you who have big hearts for the little ones, you can spread the holiday cheer by liking Pier 1 Imports on Facebook because for every new fan they get, they will donate $1 to Toys for Tots. And with that… you are sure the holiday will be a wonderful one.

Thursday 2 Questions: Busy as my Alibi

I have been invited to do Thursday Two Questions since it started [I guess] but I never find time to do it because of 2 reasons;

1. I am very busy.
2. I am very very very busy.

Yes, I try to use or rather abuse the word - busy... to emphasize two things;

1. That I am human being.
2. That I have an alibi.
RLOL [really laughing out loud]

Oh well, whether I justify it or not... it only boils to one thing... I will surely find time to grant a friend's request when I do finally get the time to do it... and that "time" is - now!
So my two questions are...

1. What makes you busy lately?
2. Do you use your busy-ness as an alibi to avoid doing things whether they are very important or not?

Yea Black Friday Shopping

Content by Mauricio Benson

My black Friday shopping adventure was better than I had ever imagined it. This was actually my first year ever going Black Shopping Friday but I had a blast and I found so many great deals on so many great items. I bought a ton of clothes and outfits that were all priced under $10. I can never find good quality clothes in my size for that cheap but I did this particular day. I was so excited about the sale at Wal-Mart and target that I begin dipping in my bill money to buy the clothes I wanted.

I kept telling myself that if I didn't buy them now, I would never find another great deal like this until next year. There is no guarantee to that either so I just kept on picking up what I like. I found a lot of great appliances at target for pretty cheap. I didn't get to ridiculous though because I had already spent a lot of money on clothes.

The only thing I hated about shopping was because the stores were crowded and everyone was trying to catch some of the deals. People were pushing and shoving trying to get select items but I still had the time of my life. Once I got home I fixed a warm glass of egg nog and began watching DirecTV Deals with my husband.

Time Flies

Time flies so quickly. Spring and Summer passed by like a breeze. I almost didn't feel it. Now I just need to bask on the memory of a wonderful summer that is now gone.
Time flies so quickly. And I am hoping that Winter will pass by swiftly like Fall. So that Spring will bring back the time for new life.

Next Level Shopping

I am already on a countdown. There are only few days left before Christmas and my list seems to have been breeding on its own. LOL. I go shopping every chance I get but my list keeps growing. Good thing I took shopping to the next level. With my busy schedule, most of my purchases are online. It is the best thing that ever happens to me. Well, sort of.

I like online shopping for a lot of reasons. There are lots of stuffs that I find online that I cannot find in the store. I can go shopping in Europe in my jammies while doing the laundry too. And more importantly, I don’t need to drive or take the plane to go to the store, get stuck in traffic or the airport and have a hard time finding a parking spot or hotel accommodation. So how convenient is that? Wink***

I love online shopping and I call it Shopwiki! Yes, Shopwiki is the new shopping. It is the most convenient, stress-free and hassle-free online shopping engine that provides shoppers list of retailers and stores on the web for comparison. It helps shopper find the best deal on any product in every store imaginable even those products that are unusual and hard to find.

So what are you waiting for? Take shopping to the next level and shopwiki. And if you need help picking the right product, you can check out “buyers’ guide” and presto! C’mon, there are lots of things we need to think about the season, so let shopping be the least of your concern and have a wonderful Holiday.

I don't know why, but there is always something peaceful about this place... quite literally and figuratively.

A holiday garland that's not too Christmas-y

Guest post written by Keshia Adamson

I'm pretty lazy when it comes to making crafts. Most of the time I don't bother making any, but I have the occasional exception every once in a while. If I really think something is just so adorable and I can't see myself living without it, I'll go to the trouble of making it. But then I try and get the maximum use out of it.

I was feeling pretty crafty and in the holiday mood though, so I went looking online to try and find something that wouldn't take me too long to make. That's when I found some info about satellite internet deals and decided to get some more info and then order one of the packages.

On that same day, I found this great DIY pom pom garland craft that I thought I could make in colors that look kind of festive, but not necessarily Christmas so that I could leave it up in my house for other occasions. Actually, I like it so much that I think IÕm just going to leave it up year round!
