This is my second 4th of July here in the United States. And being an “alien” as I am, the occasion has no significant impact on me… just yet. Or maybe I am still in a transition period.
When I was still in the Philippines, I was curious about the different holiday celebrations they have here in the U.S. and now that I am here I was really expecting that I will have the same excitement I used to have when I was still half the world away.
Well, who should I blame, my hubby? Oh, he is just tired of the celebration maybe. He is already used to it so it has no significance whatsoever anymore. Oh well, he felt the same way too when he was in the Philippines. So I have no right to brag about it. We're even now.

I have been observing the 4th of July for 11 long years now. But I don't
really celebrate it like most Americans do not because I'm NOT an American.
