Early Morning Fishing

Thanks to my husband Ron Kemla for the guest post.

It is a summer tradition of mine to spend at least one morning a week fishing. My kids used to hate getting up at 4 in the morning to go fishing in the summer but have grown to love it. We are usually back home for a late breakfast and morning cartoons on our Direct Tv Local Channelsso it isn't very time consuming.

The night before our fishing trip I prepare everything so all we have to do is jump in the car when we wake up. The poles and gear are all put in the car the night before. I lay out clothes and jackets for everyone, so they can just slip them on and brush teeth in the morning. I have the coffee pot set for 3:30 and take a cup to-go. Our snacks are in the fridge with the worms and that is all I have to grab.

I usually go to the darkest part of the river and am there in thirty minutes. We get our gear out and cast our lines for two or three long hours of silence. We almost never catch anything, but watching the sun come up while drinking coffee and cocoa is the best part of the whole morning. This is a summer routine I couldn't live without and I hope my kids feel the same way when they are older.

  1. Fresh catch, fresh fish, that's the best meal!

I have never experienced fishing, maybe it is fun to learn!

  2. Oh I love fishing! But I can't remember when exactly the last time I had the chance to do so. Maybe I should start loving the sun again , so nothing would stop me from doing it, again. :D

    Have a nice day Ruthi!
