My Liliw... The incessant journey ahead

After so many years of steadfast acceptance in the supply and demand cycle and gaining impressive reputation among satisfied clients from different parts of the country, their goody-old “tsinelas” is still around and here to stay.

The year 2002 marked a yet another momentous phase in the history of the ever thriving and hard working Liliwenos. An important event paved the way for the introduction of the “Liliw-made-slippers” into the national consciousness. And this has given the long overdue and well-deserved recognition of the Liliwenos’ pride and joy…”ang tsinelas”!

Through the astounding effort of the local Government headed by Mayor Jonathan Polistico, the “First Liliw Tsinelas Festival” was celebrated to show the country that the Liliwenos have something good to offer. The event did not only place this humble town in the limelight but also gained the trust and confidence of no other than the president of the Philippines, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on the Liliwenos’ craftsmanship and expertise.
