California... feels like home.

I had a blast in California during my almost two-week vacation there. It was a dream come true not only because California is one of the destinations that I wanted to visit someday. So when that day came and I was overwhelmed with excitement.
California is home. I mean, I felt at home because it reminded me of Manila. It is Manila because I meet Filipino almost every square miles and yes, they still speak the language too. It is Manila because I didn't only smell Pinoy food but dined on it almost everyday. Thanks to all my Pinoy friends who brought me to all those Pinoy Restaurants like Salu-Salo, Pinoy-Pinay, Red Ribbon, Chowking, Goldilock's Bakeshop, Max's Friend Chicken, Karinderya-style resto, and of course, Jollibee.

But of course, nothing beats home-cooked meal - Pinoy style.

California is home because it is very Manila... the traffic [4 hours commute from LA to San Diego], the smog [very distinct from fog], the chaos in shopping malls [tiange style] and weather [very unpredictable]. And yes, I just love it. It was very homey to me.

And California is home because of Joey - the sister I never had. She is my cousin whom I have not seen for over 10 years. And I miss her so much.

And for the span of 12 days, I truly came home... even if it was still thousand miles across the pacific ocean.
